Swiss ShieldŽ yarns for textiles with unique characteristics

Swiss ShieldŽ yarns are manufactured by means of a patented process. Thanks to state-of-the-art manufacturing technology, the most varied and product-specific customer requirements can be factored in. Their possible applications are many and varied. The spectrum of applications for Swiss ShieldŽ yarns includes:
- Technical textiles for industrial and military applications
- Home textiles
- Clothing textiles

Swiss ShieldŽ yarns

Yarn count
The yarn count ranges from extremely fine - over 100 Nm - all the way to the coarsest count.

Base material
Numerous materials can be employed as the base for Swiss ShieldŽ yarns. From cotton to artificial fibres such as polyester, polyamide, aramids and the like.

Conductive elements
The monofilament can be made from copper, bronze, silver, gold, aluminium, inox or other conductive materials.

Conductive or insulating surface
The surface of the monofilament can be selected from either an insulating or an electrically conductive type.

A gossamer-thin, integrated metallic monofilament gives Swiss ShieldŽ fabric its shielding effect.

Swiss ShieldŽ Textiles
Swiss ShieldŽ yarns form the basis for the manufacture of high-quality textile fabric with specifically variable characteristics.

The degree of shielding provided by Swiss ShieldŽ textiles can be matched to the respective requirements and may range from a few dB to over 80 dB. These values are achieved at total, horizontal and/or vertical polarization.

Textile structure, finishing and materials
Swiss ShieldŽ yarns can be worked into extremely fine 40 g/m2 to heavy over 250 g/m2 fabrics. The textile characteristics are variable according to application.

Swiss ShieldŽ textiles are as simple to process as normal fabrics, sewing, gluing, coating, mounting, laminating, etc..
